Recommended books for second childbirth?

Hello,

I did extensive antenatal classes for my first baby so I feel like I'm clued up on that side of things... I find that a lot of the books available are (understandably) geared up to first time mums... what I'm looking for is a book or two that will give me the confidence to gear myself up to giving birth again.
My first experience was a fucking nightmare pretty traumatic so anything I could read up on to help me manage the pain etc would be a massive help!

I second Ina May's Guide to Childbirth.

I have just bought juju sundin's birth skills:proven pain management techniques for labour and birth. It was recommend on here.

Was looking for something for the same reasons as yourself - really hoping to cope better with it all this time round! wishful thinking much?!

Neverme - Thanks, this sounds great - and a really positive way of looking at things.

horsebiscuit - The cds sound good. Not sure I'm up for another set of classes but anything I can do at home is great.

If you find hypnobirthing a little full-on or expensive, try the natal hypnotheraphy range of CDs etc. I found this very useful in both births, especially in building up confidence.

Hi jumble queen, like you trying to avoid the frickin nightmare of birth no.1! I've just read Ina may Gaskin's book guide to childbirth. It's given me some positive examples of birth and made me think about what's really worrying me and what is not. Marie morgan next on my list!

could you face the idea of a bit of hypnobirthing?

if so, hypnobirthing by Marie mongan is very good. i read it before labour with dc2. now waiting for arrival of dc3 so she must talk some sense :)
