How did your 3rd labour start? What do I need to pack?

Can't think straight- help!
Am 39+ 4 today. Baby on small side so have been monitored , est 6lb at birth. 2nd dc was 8lb 4oz and a 2 hour labour from start to finish.

Started getting twinges about an hour and a half ago. Nothing to write home about- period pain type warm tightenings every 3-10 mins no patterns. Not that sore. No show waters

etc.

I am not ready to have this baby.

The bloody builder is downstairs cutting wood for skirting. He has been a disaster and has started other jobs we recommended for (before he became an arse) before finishing ours- using our house to cut wood, mix cement etc for this other job down the road while we were away waiting for him to finish. I don't want to be in labour upstairs with him down! Feel vulnerable The place is still a building site, we only moved in a week ago haven't unpacked, no built in furniture etc stuff
In storage.
Luckily dc1 in school (started on Monday!) until 3 and dc2 in nursery till 5pm

How did your 3r labour start? Like this or stop start?

Tell me what I need to pack!!!

Sorry I didn't update!!
Dd2 was born at 3pm on the 13th in the birthing pool, in her caul!
I was twingey all morning and established labour about 2 hours again but def more warning than last time.
She is delicious!
If only my builders were better...
(I have totally identified myself but not a big poster, esp under this nickname)

With my third I had a few occasions the week before my due date. where I thought it was starting but it fizzled out. It finally took off when my waters broke.

He was born on his due date!

Yeh I might wait. I soooo don't want this baby at home with idiot builder downstairs
Amazing how a normally capable woman (and a doctorBlush) can't make a decision ....

Maybe wait for your DH, driving with contractions isn't very safe - I skipped a red light last time I tried it.

First baby normal, nice delivery 5 hours start to finish
Second Baby - dangerously fast shot out in just over 2 hours from first contraction. just go to hosp in time. start to finish.
Third Baby - 3 days in hospital with labour starting/stopping/etc.

I've confused you haven't I! But you should call midwife as you have had a quick labour before.

Reply- thanks!
Am not telling him to bugger off as he hasn't been here for last 10 days and we need to get the house finished ASAP as we are going round the bend.

Also, if your second only took two hours (mine was 3!) then maybe you need to ring midwife and get moving sooner rather than later - they can check your cervix, and monitor any contractions you are having to give you an idea what's going on.

Hello Smile

I've not had my third yet so I can't help with that! But your hospital bag sounds great.

Is there anyone you need to tell - DH or DP? Can you ask the builder to bugger off?
