Baby Seat and 5 door MINI Cooper

Hi all,

Sorry if I've put this in the wrong place but needing some advice on baby seats and bases for our car.

I'm 22 weeks pregnant with first baby and starting to buy some of the practical necessities. I knew that owning a MINI Cooper was going to prove testing with a little one but didn't realise trying to get a baby seat was going to be almost impossible 😖😖

We've managed to find a pram and fits into the boot of the car which is compatible with Maxi-Cosi baby seats. However, when looking at the Maxi-Cosi website, our car isn't listed as compatible car (not that they say it isn't compatible....it just isn't listed at all!!). I have a 2016 5 door MINI Cooper with IsoFix fittings so appreciate that it is a newer model but quite surprised to find at not there completely. The seat we were looking at buying is the Maxi-Cosi Plus with the 2 way fix base. I have emailed Maxi-Cosi and still waiting for them to reply (almost a week now!) 😏😏😏, however in the mean time I have been to Halfords who have said that they won't attempt fit the seat or base as the car isn't listed on the Maxi-Cosi website...
The nice man at Halfords even spoke to Maxi-Cosi who suggested I speak to MINI BMW to see what they suggest... they suggested that I speak to Maxi-Cosi... So I'm currently at a dead end.

All other models of MINI are listed on Maxi-Cosi and are compatible so I'm kind of guessing that it's a testing issue (in that it hasn't been tested with the car being a newer model) otherwise I'd have thought there would have been a big No No for using it. My MINI handbook does say that the IsoFix is compatible with universal seats and bases if that helps?

Do any other mums or dads have this issue? I can't be the only person driving a 5 door MINI with kids? Any more advice would be greatly received!!

OK! What pushchair do you have? Do you really need a Maxi-Cosi seat?
