Advice on 9 month+ seats

I am starting to research car seats for 9 month+ (group 1?). I have a few Qs:

1. I have seen people using seats that rotate to face the car door, so you can get the LO in/out easily. I presumed that was standard, but now beginning to doubt myself.
   

Most of the seats on the mothercare & kiddicare websites don't have this listed - the only one seems to be the maxi cosi axiss. Is this because what I want goes without saying - so does the axiss offer something extra? Or am i expecting too much?

Would you recommend this type of rotating seat? I can picture what we need now, but not what will work when she is older.

and 2. Many of the seats have an isofix type base. What is this for? Would you have a base in, say, both cars so its easy to move the seat?

again please consider a rear-facing group 1!!!

The Maxi Cosi Axiss is the only swivel seat I know about and isn't worth the £200 you'd pay for it, it's a poor fit and the seat-belt tensioner on it is laughable! x

Thanks you two, perhaps we don't need a rotating base as much as i think - she won't stay as she is now for long. May be the best idea to keep the current one until she is nearer 12 months/the upper weight limit and see how the land lies then.
Thanks for the heads up about rear facing. I'll look into that. (would it make boredom or travel sickness worse?)

They don't rotate as a standard. There is a Bebecar one that swivels but I don't know whether it's stage 0 or 1 and I think there was another by Recaro maybe. I can't find it on Google. They're mostly useful for people with poor mobility so you shouldn't need one. Have a look into rear facing car seats as LIZS says. They're expensive but so much safer.

Group 1 isofix seats fix directly into the car, not on a separate base, so to transfer you have to refit them in each car each time. I don't think t he rotating ones have taken off. Once you child is a toddler they can soon get into the seat themselves so a rotating feature wouldn't really be an advantage long term. Latest safety thinking is to rear face until much older , maybe something to consider.
