Talk to me of windbreaks....

I have read of 'cotton' and 'stripy' and I am intrigued, tell me more.

So far I am only aware of beach stylee or tent matching poshness.

We had the later last year and took it back as it was crap, so I need a new one.

If I was to get a cotton one will that make me into the kind of camper who feels the need to decorate nearby trees with bunting? And will it survive the driving rain light showers of North Norfolk?

I want it to protect my stove from the wind (have a metal guard too obv. and cotton somehow seems less burney than plastic.

How big is your windbreak all packaged up Slubber?

I have brought quite a few extra bits this year (if you can call a mahoosive camping cupboard a 'bit'. Dp is starting to do this face -> alot over the packing of the car.

Do you think it's bigger than a plastic jobbie?

It is not a small thing. It is the same size as the plasticy stripey beach jobby we had last year that DH broke in his mighty rage. def bigger than a matching tent poshness number but it is quite special.

I'm not sure that drinking wine out of a beaker is the done thing when you have a Cabanon AND a Blue Diamond Windbreak.

slightly off topic, but was mentioned several posts back...re wooden mallets and girl guides...when I was in guides, we used wooden mallets but the pegs were wooden too so I guess that made it different.

We have a rubber mallet and a windbreak that matches the tent (I'm almost emabarrassed to admit after this!) - may return to this if the wind destroys it one day though

our windbreak too has died a DIY death ...pole was needed for some task! and is now too short !

I like the look of the blue Diamond however are you supposed to match your tent (green) wouldn't that look a bit....camoflage/twee or contrast eg burgundy ? if you are trying to look less new.....

are windbreaks a personality test?... not good a very good design sense so advice needed

also actually saw the wall one at last campsite (brown dry stone) v bizarre especially as next to a huge US Rv type mobile home thing!
