Camping with 8m/o this weekend... any tips/ideas???

am going to a festival with my 8 m/o, we will be with friends with vans so will have access to boiling water and toilets and even a little bit of electricity but basically i am worried about getting him to sleep and survivng the cold... also, what to do with him in the rain! our tent is quite huge, you can stand up in it and it has two seperate compartments, i was going to take his travel cot for him to sleep in and will have his buggy which reclines almost fully. i am really nervous about him getting ill or not sleeping and being miserable all weekend!! Help!!
