Calling spidermama and other sussex campers

I know you go camping Spidermama - wondered whether you know of any lovely small rural sussex campsites within easy reach of Brighton. We have just got a tent and are going on our first camp with the kids this weekend.

Please don't say Blackberry wood - it's booked until end of Sept!

Brakes Coppice Park (find it on ukcampsite.com), nr Battle. Small and very peaceful. Not sure re the fire, but they have lots of BBQs to borrow. Basic but good, Battle has Tesco metro & takeaways if I remember rightly.

I'd like to try here when I get a chance. We've been on the nature walk at bluebell time which was beautiful (and buggy friendly!) but we didn't realise then that it was a campsite as well.

Doh! I was going to say Blackberry wood. It was only booked up at weekends last time I asked.

Otherwise I'm not sure. There's one somewhere up on the Kent/Sussex border which is supposed to be good and allows camp fires but I can't remember the name of it. I'll come back to you if I can find out.
