I've done ww and just can't be bothered with points and don't have the time to fit in a meeting for ww or sw. So I've got my app up and running again (nutracheck), have paid for 3 months of membership and now am committing myself to logging what I eat as dilligently as I can.

In 4 weeks time I'm away with the family in Devon and I don't want to feel I have to hide from the camera - so I want to do as much good in 4 weeks as I can.

Then in 11 weeks time I'm in London and then in Spain. Spain is the biggest motivation as I don't want to feel self conscious in shorts etc by the pool, but have always hated my legs and my bum!

1400 cals target a day.
Earn 200 cals exercise a day target too.

I’ve not been as disciplined as I’d like to be the last week or so, combination of busy/hormones/illness and tiredness. Weighed this morning though and I haven’t gained, just haven’t lost. So I need to get back on it - 1500 per day was working well for me.

How’s everyone going? I started a 1500 calorie diet in January, lost 5kg in about 2 months then plateaued. I stopped following the diet but I’m still around the sand weight. I’m wondering if I hit it really hard again now if I’ll have another one of those amazing 3kg drops in the space of a month. Anyone tried this to get out of a plateau?

Can I join too? On mfp and aiming to average around 1400 calories a day per week.

I hope looking at it weekly rather than daily works as I think I can do that sustainably rather than day after day of 1400.

My problem has always been when I'm good I'm very very good but when I'm bad I'm awful! So hoping doing like this will give me more scope for eating more on some days and balancing it out on other days - and get me out of the mindset of 'good' and 'bad'.... 🙄

I have three stone to lose - possibly four. It's been so long that I've forgotten what my ideal weight is.

bzzbeebzz I feel your pain I'm finding it hard at the moment not to eat everything!!
I've managed to lose 3lbs in week and I don't want to ruin my good work but all I want is junk food!

How’s everyone doing? I’m finding MFP a great help to try to make better choices.
I’m dreading PMT creeping up on me though as I just lose all willpower. Any tips?

That's great! I'm trying loads of different salads for lunch at the moment and I got this low cal cookbook so me and oh are trying new dishes each night to keep it interesting.

Thanks :)
I had a really lovely lentil salad and FEEL much better already. I think that’s the interesting thing I’ve learnt, I feel crap and bloated and generally grumpy when I’m not eating well, it’s not even just about the weight gain/loss anymore.

I’ve been away for a few days and it all went to pot, no easy access to healthy food, staying with friends, I know I sound like I’m not taking responsibility but it’s so hard when I’m not at home in my normal routine buying and cooking my own food. No exercise either. Also lots of drinking which i had been avoiding as it just throws me off and gives me the munchies. Back on the wagon now and glad to be l!

I started 4 days ago. 1200-1500 kcal a day. Reached my limit, as nearly none of my clothes fit any more. Need to lose a stone and a half(ish). Hope to do it in time for September.

Hi how's everyone getting on? I'm feeling pretty frustrated...I'm measuring everything i eat on mfp and I try and keep 150 calories over in case I've misjudged something.
I'm doing a hiit workout every morning and I'm stuck on this weight for weeks. I'm 5ft 10 and have about 3 stone to lose. I don't know if I should drop down to a 1000 calories for a couple of days a week to see if it makes a difference.

How’s everyone getting on?
I’ve had a few treats over the weekend but nothing I would have before starting this. And I’m tracking everything on MFP which is eye opening.
Weighed on Friday and I was 1 kg down which was the first drop if seen since starting two weeks ago so a big relief to see some progress. I’m aiming for around 1400 a day and not offsetting exercise. I’m eating tonnes more veg (mostly salads as the weather is nice), making sure I have some protein to fill me up and avoiding too much sugar and white carbs and I feel much much better. Alcohol is my downfall as even a glass of wine makes me get the munchies :0

Can I join? Got 25kg still to loose and started doing MyFitnessPal a couple weeks ago, lost 2kg so far doing 1600 a day, but hoping to really increase the exercise now. I'm kind of doing high protein + lots of fruit/veg, and when I stick to it I feel so much better and full of energy.

Aiming for 1350 a day, ok so far this week and don’t feel very hungry but I’m choosing food very mindfully!

I have 4kg to lose.

I've managed to get to the next stone down bracket ... it's so nice to see the scales saying a lower number buts it's going slowly.

I'm on 1200 calories on mfp and I've started to do this 30 day shred workout at home.
How's everyone else doing?

Hi can I join too? I started Monday and I'm desperate to stay on track, I've tried so many times over the years but this time I feel like I'm in a totally different headspace and will actually get somewhere!

Considering I didn't even manage to lose weight for my own wedding that's saying somethingGrin

Yes please, can I join. I’ve put on a stone slowly over last 3 years, not overweight now but nearly all wardrobe too tight or totally too small. Have lost a few pounds since last summer by calorie counting but need to shift about 10lbs I’d say to feel like my old self again.

Think I’m hitting the forties spread too that my older friends warned me of. Goal is 10 stone, I am 10.10 now (was 11.3 last summer)

Oo yes, I'd like to join you guys please. I have 2 stone to lose. I use my fitness Pal but I'm currently doing quite a restrictive food plan that's fine but as soon as I deviate (like this weekend, yikes!) The weight goes back on quickly. I've lost with mfp before but I do think moderately low carbs help me with keeping my hunger levels at bay so your 'of which sugars' suggestion is great. Do you have a max 'of which sugars' you allow yourself, or is it zero?

It took me three tries to successfully lose weight by calorie counting. I finally succeeded by eliminating simple sugars from my diet as much as possible. Simple sugars (the "of which sugars" under the carbohydrate line on the nutritional info on all food packaging) cause your blood sugar to rise then drop sharply - this leads to you feeling hungry. By planning all meals in advance to avoid sugar as much as possible I went from BMI 28 to 22 in five months. First two attempts had been scuppered by too many days where hunger led to "to hell with it" followed by snacking.
