How to deal with this...

Dd is 7yo and just started yr 3, a boy not in her class but in her year has been harressing her and her friends at lunchtime play for a little while. She had complained about him at the end of the last school year but it was all quite non specific, a lot of chasing about, occasional being pulled about but nothing that rung any alarm bells.

This week things have suddenly got much worse, he has pinned dd down and forced her to kiss him, forced her into a cupboard and trapped her in it as well as generally making playtimes miserable. I was going to go in and speak to her teacher about it after school today but in fact the teacher called me in, dd was in tears. Today he and another boy cornered her, threatened her with sticks and told her to pull her trousers down Angry

She did it as she was frightened but immediately went and told her teacher. The teacher said the boys mum had also been called in and he had been told off.

Thinking about it, I feel so angry and sick. She has been in tears on and off all evening Sad

The school should be doing more right?

Hello update, went to see the head at dds school 8.30am this morning!! She knew all about the incident which was a good start, she was good and said all the right things so am happy it is being taken seriously.

My dd came back from school happy today, she said the area the boys had taken her off to has been blocked off today!! I feel better and hope that the school continues to deal with it. Thankyou for replying it clarified the seriousness of the incident for me.

O.kay thankyou, lost sleep worrying about this last night. It feels so wrong that you do everything possible to protect your child and then something awful like this happens Sad

I would not move DD....that is punishing her. no...insist the boy is kept under close supervision from now on...insist on a full investigation and if it were my DD....I'd be speaking to the police no matter WHAT the teacher says. Some teachers are shit....look at that poor little boy left to starve...Daniel Pelka....his teachers SAW how thin he was but did NOTHING.

You need to report this to the police for not only your daughter's sake but the boy's and any other children he may care to assault. I wouldn;t hesitate.

I have been really upset about this and just got off the phone to my mum, we have agreed that we will both go in and speak to the head 8.30 Monday morning. I will see what she says, dd is meant to be going on a residential school trip week after next and at the moment I don't want her to go.

If the school doesn't do anything or take it seriously I will think about involving the police but also seriously thinking about moving dd to another school.

So...your DD has basically been seriously assaulted. Go to the police. At the VERY least it will galvanize social services into checking out his home life...it sounds like he is being abused. Sad

DEMAND that the boy is not allowed in the playground at playtime until something has come of your complaint to the police...see the head teacher about this FIRST THING on Monday morning and tell her you are speaking to the police after you have spoken to her. AND DO SO! Poor DD...this is not normal bullying.

Yes the school should do more. That is awful for your poor DD. When you went in what did they say?
