Did any of you get your periods back while exclusively breastfeeding?

DD is 21 weeks and excl bf, and now I have telltale cramps. I wasn't expecting any periods for a long time.

Yep mine cameback 4 weeks after lochia stopped all 3 times

Thought it was one of the perks of bf tbh. You know no AF in exchange for sore nips and utter exhaustion lol

nature lover - is there a chance you could be? I would defo do a test just to put your mind at rest. Let us know how you get on.

DS is 21 weeks old, dropped night feeds at 12 weeks and no sign of anything for me yet.

blimey I was pissed off enough when they came back when he was 9 months

(have had 2 now and already feeling quite tempted to get pregnant again to avoid the damn things)

naturelover, I knew mine was coming for AGES before it actually did - random cramping, dodgy tummy, lightheadedness, nausea etc. - to the point where I wondered if I could be pregnant even though I knew it was highly unlikely. might be worth taking a test though just to check

DS - Excl bf 4 1/2 mths, weaned completely @ 11 1/2 months, period joyously waited until he was 15 months to return !!!

DD - Excl bf 8 mths, still going @ 11 mths, no period yet.

DD2 - 11 months

Both BF exclusively to 6 months, DD2 a lot hungrier than DD1, DD1 slept 11-7am (I know) at 6 weeks, MWs say a break of more than 4 hours between feeds can trigger ovulation.

Well, after about a week of cramping and not feeling wonderful, no sign of period. Should I be worried?

Am starting to wonder if I should take a pregnancy test. Have been feeling nauseated in the evenings too but this could just be exhaustion.

Yes, periods back from 6 weeks. Very annoyed as bf is painful each time it arrives (hormonal changes i understand) - grrr

DD1 - was about 7m, but then didn't have another one for about another 3m (wasn't excl. bf then either)

DD2 - 8m, same as above (still not really regular now at 17m but have just stopped bf, so who knows now?)

Yes, my periods came back 6 weeks after I gave birth. I exclusively breastfed for six months.

I did get a lot of rest, though.

YES, (4 months) big shock!!!!! Ironically they were therafter more regualr than they had ever been before...

I breastfed both my dc until they were 18 months and both times periods resumed after 9 months!!!

Ds is 9m, been on solids 3m, but still bfing a couple times a day and a couple at night. No periods here. Have been wondering just how far I have to cut down before they reappear...

I got mine 8 weeks after ds1 was born (excl breastfeeding).

Be careful - I fell pg with ds2 when ds1 wasn't even 4 months old and I was still excl breastfeeding....

I think it was about 3 months after for me with ds2.

YES!! 6 weeks after birth. I excl breastfed for 5 months.
