4-month old DD 'cluster feeding' all eve- advice please?

My 4 & a bit month old DD has for over two weeks been going on feeding binges all eve (from around 6pm until midnight or 1am) with barely 45 mins between feeds. She is breastfed, but does have one bottle of formula (240ml) in the eve to give me a break (& 'cos I'm supposed to do some work then) but will still have another breastfeed less than an hour after finishing the bottle. She'll then conk out and sleep until 7am which isn't so bad. But the constant feeding in the eves is getting a wee bit draining (during the day she does 3-4 hrs between big breastfeeds)- any ideas? She was born a month early so I really don't want to wean her yet.

All advice greatly appreciated... xxx

i would say cluster feeding seems to be the price you pay for long nighttime sleeps (worth paying imho). what kind of work do you need to do? can you get things done on a laptop while she feeds and get things you actually have to get up for done during the day?

Mine did this at a similar age.

Be warned that when it stops they take to waking at night instead... with hindsight I prefered the cluster feeding

my son did exactly the same for a bit around the same age- then grew out of it and just decided to go to sleep after one large feed- i think again this is another case of growth spurt!!!
