How much formula for 6 month old?

Hi. I’ve started weaning my 6 month old from breast to bottle and he’s now almost exclusively having bottles during the day. I still breastfeed him first thing in the morning and last thing at night as well as any night feeds. My milk supply seems to be doing fine with this split at the mo so I hope to keep this up for the foreseeable.

Just wondering how much formula is too much as I’m really worried about over feeding him. Based on when he’s hungry, he currently has around 20oz of formula in 24 hours plus whatever he gets from breastfeeding which I don’t think is an awful lot but obviously impossible to say. His weight seems to have spiked a little (from the 91st to 94th percentile on the chart in his red book.

He doesn’t look overweight to me but should I be trying to limit his formula intake a little?

Thanks @JiltedJohnsJulie, that’s good to know. I meant porridge in the morning but he has lots of different things at night. :)

Sounds absolutely fine to me. if he were on formula exclusively, 20 floz would be the minimum at this age so it sounds fine.

If he's on the 94th centile for weight, is he very long too?

S for the porridge, at 6 months it's fine to offer him a variety of things. There are some great suggestion of things to try from page 31 in this guide Smile

Sorry, should have mentioned he also has two meals a day (porridge for breakfast and dinner). Only 2-3 teaspoons at each meal time.
