at the risk of jinxing it completely dd2 (nearly 10 weeks) seems to be settling into a habit of long night time sleeps, between 5 and 7 hours. i had supply/weight issues w/dd1 so have been doing everything possible to maximise supply this time round and am wondering whether a sleep of this long at this age poses any risk to my supply (which seems . (have no previous experience of going this long between feeds, dd1 never slept more than 1.5 hours for first 6 months).

she feeds unrestrictedly in the day, average 2 hours between feeds, occasionally longer, often shorter. her weight gain has been respectable, although i have no intention of getting her regularly weighed from now on, will go on how well/happy she seems. seems very well and happy

can i quit worrying and start thanking my lucky stars?

thanks snowpea. i think that while i know about the supply/demand magic i'm not sure i totally believe it because it never quite worked like it should last time. but yes, i will try to chill and get on with the enjoying it while it lasts

YES! No need to worry. Enjoy the sleep!
The beautiful thing about breastfeeding is that your supply will fall in line with your babies needs. If her feeds are going well during the day, and you're comfortable that she's had enough to eat (evidenced by a generally happy baby) then you have no reason to stress. If your dd has a growth spurt, or needs more milk for any reason, her habits will change and she herself will stimulate your milkflow to increase.
Congratulations! I hope you enjoy your sleep

oops... supply seems to be reasonable if not abundant, still have times when she's emptied both sides a couple of times and still hungry, generally in evenings, but not every day.
