Hi everyone

DD is 3 months old, I have been breastfeeding since birth except for one bottle of formula in an evening when I express instead

I am planning on leaving her with MIL tomorrow to help DP with some work bits, any tips on relieving the milk etc can't take my electric pump as it's inconvenient etc

Will me not feeding her through the day for a few feeds affect my supply? I have left her before but only for a few hours/overnight when she doesn't feed anyway

Thanks everyone x

She goes from 11pm- 7/8am without a feed, I have spoken to health visitors etc etc and they are happy with her weight and the fact she does that she's a happy and content baby so I'm not concerned at all that she sleeps through..

I took my expresser in the end and used that which worked fine xx

Mine were going through the night without feeding from about 8 weeks, although granted I wasn't breastfeeding.

She’s going without feeds overnight? At 3 months? That’s not, erm, standard at all.

You cannot miss several feeds in one day, no. It can cause severe discomfort, mastitis, blocked ducts etc.

If you must do it you’ll need to express somehow. I took my electric pump with me everywhere - at 4 months I flew with DD and had to express in the toilet on the plane.

Hand express.
