Erratic feeding and exploding boobs!

My 8 weeks old has so far fed every 2-4 hours but it starting to go longer stretches in a totally random fashion. For example he just had an afternoon nap of 6 hours and I eventually had to wake him up as my boobs were exploding! I don'tike waking him up, he is growing well so I would prefer to follow his rhythms. I could express I suppose but I never know if he is waking up in the next 5 minutes, and I would not want him to be hungry just when I have emptied my boobs, neither I want to give him the habit to feed expressed milk with the bottle too often as i am worried he will start to refuse the breast. What's the best thing to do?

Yep, I agree with TheScience. I would wake in the day but leave them to sleep at night.

I always woke after 3 hours in the day time, and let them sleep as long as they want at night. Once they start regularly sleeping a long stretch at night your boobs adapt.

Obviously I meant 'exploding' in the title ! How do I change it??
