Infant feeding

BF with a cold

I have a bad cold. EBF 6 week old has a snuffle but not a bad cold thank goodness. I have been feeding on demand, but my breasts feel a lot less full than normal, and he is fussing a lot on the breast. It seems like there is not enough milk there, and it looks and sounds like he is still hungry.

Should I give him a bottle? I am drinking lots of water, but it does not seem enough.

A cold won't affect your supply I don't think - but it is normal for your boobs to start to feel less full around 6 weeks because your supply is getting properly established and regulated.
I'd guess it's just coincidence that your baby is fussy - perhaps a bit of a blocked up nose making it harder to feed, or a growth spurt. Just give another feed if you're concerned. No need for a bottle! Hope you feel better soon.
