Feeling awful, What do I do???

This probably sounds like a really stupid question...
I woke up this mornign felt like i'd been hit by a bus, have a temp sore head the usual and generally feeling lousy. ddont want ds 6months to catch it. Is it better to breast feed and presumably pass on my sickness and antibodys, or just give him formula.
Sorry for the panicky fist time mum question!!!

don't think you can have mastitis without boob symptoms, that's what starts first with me, then the fever.

if you do think it is mastitis, call the doc's and explain your symptoms over the phone. they should leave a prescription for your dh to pick up. that's what i did yesterday, although i'm saving the a/bics as a last resort and taking homeopathic belladonna, as this is a very good remedy for mastitis.

hope you soon feel better.

Sounds more like flu.

increase your fluid intake, rest when poss, cancel meeting friends and stay in and eat well.

dont reduce feeds and just be hygenic with baby.

hope you feel better soon

x

ps. got mum or friend who could swing by to help while you rest?

You have to phone again and demand an appt, chapsmum, if you think it is mastitis. However, it could just be flu. You don't mention any mastitis symptoms - hard breasts, red patch(es), hurts to feed.

You will not pass on any infection to your baby, and a/bs are fine to take when bf

You also have to continue feeding; suddenyl stopping can cause serious probs.

Good luck

Hello

could be mastitus so get doc app immediately.

i had mastitus three times but the third time, i had such a high fever i was sweating and freezing and felt so awful as soon as i took the second antibotic tablet it magically lifted.

keep offering your baby your breasts to help empty them and also feed at the normal times.

if you think its something else then continue to feed your baby he/ she will be fine. remember to wash your hands and just dont kiss their mouth or hand etc so you dont pass the germs.

Carry on B/f, but get to the Doctor, coz it could be Mastistis which needs antibiotics to clear it
