I've got some expressed breast milk stored up in the freezer- my mum has very kindly offered to take the night shift so I can get more than an hours sleep at a time!

I'm going to sterilise the bottles then pour the defosted milk into 1.5oz unit doses and keep them in the fridge until baby wants them tonight.

Does anyone know, can I store the bottles in the fridge with the teats and lids on ready to go or do they have to have the sealing caps on? if I can only store them with the sealing caps it just makes it a bit harder to then have to sterilise the teats and replace them when baby wants feeding. If they can be stored with the teats on, anyone have any idea how long they can be stored like that in the fridge for? I know I can only keep the defrosted milk in the fridge for 24 hours so can they be stored with teats as long as that?

thanks in advance :-) have been searching for answers on the internet all morning but not found anything.

Ah fab, thanks guys. My steriliser (also an avent) says it will stay sterile for 6 hours, but then I think they are being over cautious.

No LO is not tiny, she's a chunky monkey but has a habit of just having loads of little snacks, when I first started expressing it took me 3 attempts to fill up a 4oz bottle for her, so I was gutted when she had about an ounce then went to sleep and didn't want anymore and I had to chuck it all down the sink- I am wise to that trick now! If she wants more than 1.5oz at a time she'll just have to wait for the other bottles to be heated, lol

yes you can store the bottles with the teats on. The bottles dont normally come with sealing discs so you would normally just use the teats anyway - they will be fine stored like that for 24 hours.

Well I hope you can store them in the fridge with the teats on ready to go, because that's what I've been doing for the last 6 months!

I would assume that's ok for 24 hours too like the milk. I know the bottles stay sterile in the steriliser for 24 hours.

Is your baby very tiny? 1.5 oz doesn't sound very much.
