Bereavement

Died in Childbirth

I went to a funeral on Saturday of a mum who died in childbirth, They also lost their baby. She has left behind a husband and 2 boys 2 & 4 years old. It has hit me quite hard, but I feel a bit of a fraud as I had only met her twice but she was a really nice lady. I was expecting that there would be two coffins but the baby was in his mums arms - I think that was the bit where I felt worst, just thinking what a huge space this mum and babys passing has left in so many peoples lives. So anyway please, those who do pray, include them in your prayers and give your kids an extra hug and kiss in memory of Lyn & Joseph.

god how bloody awful, that poor family, its still a sad fact that women do die in childbirth, but to lose both mum and baby, how tragic, they are cuddling each other forever.

This has made me cry. I can't get the image of the little boy in his mother's arms out of my head. It is too, too sad

My Yoga teacher lost her daughter and first granddaughter in childbirth in January It is very hard for her - she will never come to terms with it, just learn to live with it It really shouldn't happen this day in age

what a terrible thing to happen. It really does make you relaise how lucky we all are. I ahve no children and have had 2 m/cs in the last 4 months and i thought what i was going through was bad. But to have that happen it just devestating. My thoughst will be with them, what a lovely idea to ahve them in the same coffin.

They are not only sleeping together but no doubt playing together now - she will be protecting him forever.

Personally I can' think of a better way to say my goodbyes, her husband must be amazing, as are you. She will be happy you are there xxxx

What a lovely decision to let mum and baby sleep together - baby will always be safe

How absolutely shocking and tragic for that family and those 2 boys looking forward to having a new baby brother and now they have to come to terms with losing him and their mum.

Hope they find some way of coping. It will be extremely tough. How does one expect that a mum goes into labour and ends up losing her life and her babies.
