My Ds bless him still seems really baby like, every other baby I seem to meet of his age seems really toddler like and grown up. He is still really chubby and young looking and only has a few words, which he uses few and far between. He didn't start walking until 17 months, do I need to worry?

I think I may have been biased by DD who did everything physical as the milestones said and has been a chatterbox from the day she was born. She was doing far more things at this age, and could hold a conversation.

Am I expecting too much from DS or is there something to worry about?

Btw I love him still being baby like, he is such a cute little thing, his thighs just kill me

Both my dds looked younger than their peers at this age, partly due to lack of hair.

dd1 talked the socks of me though, and dd2 is only just starting to make herself understood to anyone other than me. She probably has a couple of dozen words, admittedly including 'mayonnaise'

And she didnt' walk until 18 mos, and that makes them look a lot younger too.

I'm enjoying it though, no rush

I was thinking the same thing about dd2 the other day. dd1 seemed to be older at this age, she was an early walker talker etc but also seemed to look more of a toddler than dd2 does. I'm sort of glad tho, if I'm not going to have any more, I'll hang on to this chubby little bundle a bit longer thankyou!

My ds is very similar, he walked roughly same as dd about 1 but he still is a boy of few words, whereas dd was gifted in this still is. I think and hope and know really this is fine.

Just wanted to post to say that my DS was developmentally much slower than DD - think it is a boy thing. He turned out to be the brains of the family though so I wouldn't worry.
