5 year old hitting

Hi all. My DD has just turned 5 last week and is in reception. Unfortunately we are having problems with her hitting, pushing, slapping etc. No idea where it has came from and if I ask her why she has hit someone she will say things like 'they weren't doing as they were told' 'they're naughty' 'they did it to me 1st' 'they wouldn't listen to me' etc etc.
The teacher says she is bossy and hasn't formed any friendships because of it and the other children 'don't like her'...this nearly broke my heart 😢
Strangely tho she loves school and happily runs in everyday!! She's bright and ahead academically it's just the behaviour. Shes no angel at home and does get frustrated if she can't do things or her little brother (2) won't do as she asks. Hot headed I suppose would be a way to describe her?
Not sure what to do?? She's on behaviour chart at school but never gets off 'mr naughty' 😣 so therefore never gets a reward. Do I need to worry or do we think she will just grow out of this? Or will things improve in year 1 when there is more expectation to sit and learn? A lot of the incidents seem to be happening in 'free time' x

You might be better asking MNHQ to move this thread over to Primary Education OP, you might get a few more replies Smile
