Hi, we have our first appointment for possibly asbergera assessment with an paediatrician in a few days for my son who is 7 year old. I’ve been contemplating what to tell him about where we are going. Was thinking to say that it is a routine check up and everyone has one!?!

What would you tell your child about where you were going?

Thanks in advance!

I told my nearly 6 year old we were going to see someone to chat about making some things he found difficult a bit easier. At that age they know something's are trickier for them than other people. Normally he refuses to discuss anything like this but he turned round and said can we go right now, so I guess he was hiding alot more than we knew.

I think I told my DD we were going to see a doctor who would have a little chat with us about what she found easy and what she found hard. She was a bit younger than your DS so apologies if that’s too simplistic.

Good luck with it all Flowers
