Ds3 babbles alot but doesn't actually say any proper words. He can say Mama and Dada but babbles them rather than saying to me or his Dad. I think his understanding is good as he shakes his head for no or says ye for yes. He has a dummy but only has it if he's tired or upset he doesn't have it in when playing . Ds2 was rambling away at this age. No other concerns with him he eats and sleeps well and is happy content boy.

My 16mo is the same as yours. No words whatsoever, just babbling

My DS (17mo) says nothing remotely intelligible. Babbles a lot. But no words.....

Mine says two words, makes three animal noises and uses a couple of signs.

Hello. At 15mo DS could say "Duck" and that's about it.

He's now 18mo and can say a whole range of animal sounds (Quack, Meow, Woof) etc about 25 animals! (This counts as vocabulary apparently).

He's more of a physical type, good at outdoor activities but not particularly vocal.

They all develop at a different pace and all get there in the end! Don't worry.

My DS is exactly the same, says dadda and babbles a lot and points at everything and then "talks" to it. My DD at that age and quite a vast vocabulary, by 18months she was putting sentences together and talking really well.

They are all different.
