just a quicky...dont mena to sound brusque?is that even a word??

how about th e notion that behaviour gets worse before it gets better as 'they 'try to cling on to their way of doing things....a sort of defiant resistance..or dislike of change?

OK - I agree, it seems too early. He isn't really grasping what it's about.
Biig big balls-up in the Pruni household. He bit a friend today and threw a tantrum at P+T.
THere are loads of things he does really really well, like allowing us to clean his teeth properly and tidying away toys - and of course he gets rewarded for those. I just thought it might work for the few things there are battles with - on account of him being generally a 'good kid' - but what a mistake...
Oh well [rueful]

DS is 2.5 and I can't imagine a star chart working for him at all.

is there anything he is doing that he can earn a sticker for?

we found with DD1 that having stickers on her chart to show off saw her behaviour improve. We also paided out £5 for a fancy stickers chart which comes with stickers and she chose worked better than the home made one too.

can find the website we bought it from if you like, they had some fab designs

Ds regressed badly in all areas when star chart was introduced for something else. 2 theories -

Trying to improve one behaviour and focussing on it ballsed up everything else.

Or, deliberately being an idiot so can get more stars for turning around behaviour.

Threw away star chart.
