I am struggling to find a boys name that is the "one". I like unique names but also names that will grow with them, quite a difficult combo. I like the sound of Brakkai and Indio but would like to test them out before I actually name the baby. Any comments welcome.

Alex James, formerly of Blur and now organic, lentil-knitting cheesemaker extrordinaire, has a son called Geronimo. Am roffling at some of the made-upies- Ashtre is amahzing.

FWIW, OP, I really dislike Brakkai and Indio. Brakkai in particular gives me the heebies, but I don't know why. I do, however, love Cassiis and Inigo. Not that it matters a jot.

just call him whatever you want and what you like because although not everybody will like them my friend has just had a little girl and called her emma and i think that is revolting so not everyone can agree i think some people on here express themselves a little too strongly and can be quite upsetting so call him whatever you like he is your son xxxx

Is this a joke?

Your child will be unique there is no need to give them quite such a daft name!

And what's not to like about continually being asked "didn't you stab Caesar? or where you the one on his side?"

and my husband is 43. his middle name is caleb. someone, somewhere will have the name you pick....so why worry? id love to understand the new competitive baby naming thing...

dare i ask....

ok i dare. WHY do you need a totally unique/made up name anyway? its like baby naming has become super competitive! just choose a bloody name you like! who cares if anyone else has it! someone somewhere probably will and why does that matter?

mum to a very confused normal named couple of children who are not so far traumatised by having said names.

lingle hallelujah! As beautiful and popular as the name Grace might currently be - I fear my offspring will grow up to be a Ginger Tree-climbing Bruiser [tm], she will be named Bensons - far more in fitting with her personality.

Ebonaaaaay, ebonaaaaay - look at moi ebonaaaay!

Look OP,

If you are beautiful and confident, it's great to be called Orlando or whatever.

If you are shy or not beautiful, it's hell on earth.

How's your bone structure?

I'd still go with Ashtre! Bit of a conundrum though, as I really like Aldi and Tankard too. Ah the indecision.
