I love the name Ivy I think its really cute for a child but turns kind of cool the older they get?! How about Ivy May? Then you get to use both

prefer May - I don't like Ivy at all sorry, makes me think of a horrible, bitter old woman

They're a bit 'old lady'. If you pushed me I'd say May. Do you really not have any others?

I am not a big fan of either personally, but prefer May to Ivy.

I prefer Ivy to May. There is a little girl at our childrens centre called Iris, which I thought was bit odd at first, but I've had grown to really like it. So another vote for plant-based names!
I only don't like May because I have a horrid Aunt called May.

I love May, but only if she is born in May.

Ivy good too. I'm a fan of plant-based names.

Oh and I meant to add, I met a 14 week old baby called Ivy just the other day on a bus with her Granny - who clearly didn't approve of the name... hope it grows on her!!

I actually like Ivy - she may get jokes about creeping and poison when shes older but I think its a cool name - Primal Scream had an early hit with a song called Ivy!

May is nicer. Don't like Ivy; it's a bit sharp and 'cold' sounding whereas May suggests a warm, rounded and strong personality..

ivy is my nan's name, it's quite old fashioned

We went to a party a while ago and my aunts mum is called Ivy - DS stuck his head out of the window and shouted 'See you later Ive' when she was leaving it was hilarious so the name Ivy to me is an old ladies name and not a cool one.

I love May or Mabel though.

Ivy is ok, I did have it on my SL but I am not overally sure TBH. I don't think that Ivy is all that attractive as an adults name. Cute for baby. I quite like it as a middle name.

Ivy is lovely. May nice too but more usual.

i love plant/flower type names but i have to say Ivy does make poison ivy spring to mind and ivy tilsly (sp) from coronation street, she was pure poison!!

I do like it tho, also like Violet but have similar issues with it... violent violet!!

Prefer Iris and Sage, DP always asks if we had a Sage would the next one have to be onion!! (arse!)

ivy is quite ugly.
and the plant is a bit of a funny one. it chokes other plants and destroys brickwork.

may is better .

Ivy is my mother's name and she is a raging lunatic! Luckily you don't know her so no probs for you (except poison Ivy, clinging Ivy etc etc etc)

AAAAAHAHHHHH Don't do it!
