Max alliteration

I’m going in circles and returning here over and over again. I also sort of asked this a couple of months ago - sorry, didn’t quite get clarity.

Max Marshall - yes or no?

Feel free to give one word answers - I realise the alliteration is either loved or hated! I’m going to tot up the votes because I just cannot decide.

Love it! I'm all for a bit of alliteration: I have an illiterated (as opposed to illiterate!) DS myself!

@ZoyaTheDestroyer , Matins and Martins sound the same when we say it. It's regional.

And there’s one in Marshall!

No. There's an R in Marx.

Yes in my (European) accent the two 'a's are pronounced exactly the same.

And you’re saying that in your accent the name Max Marx would sound like the same word twice?

North-West England (shortish flat vowels)

It’s not Ma Ma. It’s Ma Mar. The vowel sounds are different.

I also say the beginning of Max and Mar the same.

Not in my accent.

Being a Max M didn't do Agatha Christie's husband any harm!
Being a successful archaeologist and being married to a bestelling novelist probably helped.

What is your accent?!

Being a Max M didn't do Agatha Christie's husband any harm! I think Max Marshall sounds good. I wouldn't go out of my way to choose an alliterative first and last name but it's not something that bugs me (whereas two or more siblings with the same first initial does, for some reason).

No, I find the Ma Ma too much. It does sound a little like a superhero imo.

Elliott Marshall sounds great!

Thanks! I do like Elliot but everyone will do the two t spelling which I dislike!

I vote yes ! Though I'd probably have Maxim on the birth certificate, but this aside I love alliterative names. My son's name is a B alliteration, and both names also contain the letter R, and it sounds perfect (I'm biased obviously).

I like it. alliteration doesn't always work. Like with the letter F. fiona fowler eg, no.

Gwyneth Paltrow's son is Moses Martin and I think that sounds bad (i'm sure she's not reading) but Max Marshall sounds good. Sounds like Bruce Banner or Bill Bixby.

I agree. Max is a cool name. Sounds like a super hero or a reporter or something. I like it!
