Want to honour a late family member who went by Ro. A nickname, not her real name, which we don’t want to use.

You couldn’t do much better than simply Rose; the most beautiful flower and fragrance in the world.

I do have my own Rose, though, so am biased. She is sometimes Rosie, and sometimes Rosebud.

All the adult Rowan’s I know are girls. I live in england and know it’s unisex name here but in Scotland the name is shooting up the top 100 names for girls but doesn’t feature in the boys lists. Certainly a predominantly female name there and is used regularly for girls in US. I wouldn’t use this name though @Strangeinthenight as it’s too similar to the UK fastest rising top 100 name Roman. I work in paediatrics with newborns and there’s been a influx of Roman’s in 2019. Wasn’t surprised to hear it’s the fastest rising name for 2018. When there’s so many lovely names to choose from I’d probably avoid choosing one that is so similar to the fastest rising Uk boys name (it’ll be top 20 in the next years or so on current trajectory )

I have a baby Rosemary who we call Rosie or Roo. I love all the nicknames that she can have through her life (DS has a similar sort of name) and we've had a lot of comments on how nice her name is, how it's not used much anymore, etc.
I really love her name!

We have a Rose! She suits it so much, she has big brown eyes, dark brown hair and fair skin, she's beautiful (disclaimer- She's only a baby and I may well be a little bit biased ). Our Rose mostly gets called Rosie or I often call her Rosemary or Rosie-Marie. We often encounter people telling us that they used it as a middle name for their child, but it doesn't seem to be so popular as a first name for some reason. I think it is so classic and beautiful, and we have discovered that there is a huge array of songs with Rose in them, which we love as we're always singing them to her!

Aurora is shortened to Ro and very pretty, meaning Dawn. There are lots of Rosie's. It's nice to have a name that stands out...

I think Rosa is the nicest or Rose. Rosalind.os also nice. You could still call her Rosie if you wanted to but it sounds more like a nickname than a name to last her whole life.

I like Rosalie but I pronounce it Roz not Rose. If I was specifically trying to get the short form Ro, I think I'd go for Rowena, which I also like a lot.

DD is Rosemary. It’s my absolute favourite name ever. She is a young adult now and goes by Rose.
