SOS: help with girl’s name - 5 weeks to go!!!!

Husband has told me to pick whatever middle name I like (he’s lost the will!) but I’ve got no one to bounce ideas off because it’s being kept secret!

I liked:

Maddison-Mae Clementine
Maddison-Mae Emmeline

I’m a fan of a traditional middle name so we have modern and old. Which do you prefer or could you think of any others that would go with her first name of M-M?? I’m hitting a brick wall now and it’s stressing me out! X

Clementine, Emmeline and May (spelled like that) are all lovely. I'm not keen on Madison/Maddison at all, because it means "son" of Matthew, and so can only really be a boy's name or a surname. However, as Madison has now become used as a girl's name in recent years, I would go with Madison May (no hyphen) and then Clementine. Ideally, I'd change the order and have either May or Clementine or Emmeline as the first name.

I love Maddison-Mae.
I know a few Maddison's spelt this way and it's fine wither with one "d" or two.
Maddison-Mae just flows lovely. Perfect!
I think either of those names would fit fine as a middle name too.
Clementine or Emmeline are both lovely.

I’d also go with Madison May. It’s a bit fussy hyphenated, especially with another middle name.
If there isn’t something you love or has a strong significance, I’d keep it simple.

I like Clementine.

Personally I'd drop the hyphen so she can choose whether to use both first names or just one (e.g. my DP is John Paul, and goes by " John" (professional situations) "JP"(friends) or "John Paul" (his mum))

Maddison-Mae isn't a nice name to my taste. I agree with spelling it the correct way, Madison. And maybe Mae as a middle. No hyphen

And Madison should only have one 'D'. Please don't make your DD constantly correct her (mis)spelled name for the rest of her life. She won't thank you for it.

Clementine is a lovely middle name. So is Emmeline, but Clementine works better with Madison.

I would go with the standard Madison spelling. If she is Maddison, she will spend her life being "Maddison-with-two-D"s.

Emmeline is lovely. I think Madison Emmeline Mae flows really well. I would put Mae as an additional middle name instead of tacking it on to the first name.

Agreed. Madison is lovely, Mae is bland. Maddison-Mae is a horrible combination. There are a zillion kids with Mae/May as a middle name and the combination just sounds downmarket.

I'm not keen on Maddison tbh, I'm not keen on place names as first names but it's a personal preference. However, I would drop the hyphenated -Mae and turn it into a middle name in it's own right. Then there's no need to choose another middle name.

Maddison is quite 80's and dated whereas Clementine is timeless and ages well. I'd choose Clementine May surname, that's more of a classy combination.

Maddison-Mae is awful. Madison is the standard spelling, and May is better than Mae. The -Mae is considered downmarket (some would say chavvy).
The combined name is too long and she will probably be known as Maddy.

Depends what goes with your surname and middle names aren't used that much generally in day to day life (saying that dd2 has 2!)
