Does 'Zara' just remind you of the clothes shop?!

My previous girls name shortlist had Zara as the favourite, almost certain I'm going with Zara now - mentioned to DM and immediately got 'what, like the clothes shop?'

Tbf she had her heart set on another name which I went off Grin

Initially but once you meet a Zara you soon forget about the shop association. I love the clothes shop though so good association for me!

No but I did go to Uni with a girl called Zara who worked in Zara.

I shop there but I think of Zara Tindall too. I once read that Prince Charles suggested the name to his sister and she loved it. Understandably - because it's gorgeous!

The shop vaguely comes to mind but honestly I mostly think of it as just a name! And it's a nice one too.

No, I think of the two I know irl, then Phillips and eventually the clothes shop. I really like the name.

I don't think it does! Zara is lovely! If you like Z names and can't shake the clothes Brand thing, how about Zadie? Friends of ours just names their baby Zadie and I thought it was so beautiful and pretty uncommon!

Hmmmm in my circle of friends (25-35 year olds) we virtually alll shop at zara. I dont know that in our age group / circle wed think clothes shop before Phillips!!

Love Zara! It's a common enough name that it's not solely linked to the shop IMO. I really like it and no negative associations that I can think of.

I think Zara Philips too but don't shop at Zara's so maybe that's why!!

Zara's a lovely name 🙂

It used to, but it doesn't now that I know a few Zaras.

I immediately think of the clothes shop tbh, but that wouldn't make me not use it. People may think of the clothes shop at first, but they'd soon get over that and associate the name with the child.

Firstly I think of Zara Tindell, then yes the clothes shop isn't far behind. Not that keen on the name anyway but if you love it, go for it!

I do think of the shop but it doesn't stop me liking it?

I also really like Liberty and Tiffany

That should say not too cutesy for an adult...

Makes me think of the horsey royal family member, but it is a beautiful name, not too infantile and cutest for an adult but also not overly old for a child either.

Zara is a fabulous name. If you use it, your baby will become the default "Zara" in your life.

I think Zara Phillips. I'm old enough to remember when she was born, and how the Queen had to give permission for Princess Anne to use such an unusual (for a Royal back then) name.

Anyway, back to the name - it's lovely OP.

I thought of Zara Phillips before the shop too.

There's a Zara in my DD's class and I don't think of the clothes shop OR Zara Phillips Smile
