Hello All,
So baby is three days old and we've just decided on a name, but are now struggling with the spelling!
Any insights/considerations?

I love the way Ruben sounds, but not sure which spelling to go for,

Ruben
Reuben
Rueben

Reuben. Ruben or Rubin are OK, Rueben isn't.
I don't particularly like it.

Definitely Reuben.

Rueben is just a misspelling. Never heard of Ruben.

Mrs Hathaway: Ruben -Not sure about the 'mispronounced or other names it will muddled with', Ruben is just the Spanish variation, with the accent on the e :)

Great that you have taken the time to ask, I'm currently teaching in Australia, where it seems the spelling of names is very much a free for all: Adin (Adian), Jessiyca - always have to ask!

Reuben. Anything else would be 'yoonique'.

Reuben is the most common.

It will still get repeatedly misspelled though! The most confusing we've had so far is Rubin...

Reuben as that's the normal way to spell it!

DS2 has a Rueben in his class.

Spell it Reuben like 99% of the world.

As it should be: Reuben.

Reuben because that's the way I spelled it for my DS.

Ruben is a perfectly acceptable alternative.

Rueben is just an incorrect spelling, it's not right, ever.

Reuben.

Ruben is Spanish I think.

Rueben is just incorrect.

Reuben is the traditional way, I'd stick with that.

It'll get misspelled whichever you choose, so I'd go for whichever you prefer

Except that, as shown by this thread, 99% of people would spell it Reuben (the correct way). So it'll get misspelled much more if you spell it any other way.
