Thoughts on the name John Paul? I met a little one last week. I then just fell in love!

Extremely Roman Catholic. Large populations of Irish and Liverpudlians appear to have that name.

Although, two very strong male names if you like it, go for it

Very very pope to me. I'd assume very Catholic family.

Possibly not. I've read lots of comments to the effect that some trolls want to build up an innocuous posting history before they go nasty.

So is this supposed to be goady?

Very pope-y and catholic-y. Only John Paul I've known is of Italian descent and calls himself just John.

All the bogus threads follow a pattern...op name ends in lots of the same letter and the op never comments after initial post!

Sorry folks, but the OP's a previously banned poster - we're taking down all her threads now.

I know several. All Irish and named after the pope.
I thought of the Beatles first though.

I'd think of Satre.
or, my mum's late cat, the lovely, fluffy JP. (so called as all cats are existentialists...)

About 50% of Irish males born in 1979, year of papal visit, including my baby brother!

I love it. It's my brothers name so I'm biased. Never met another one. He gets called JP by his mates.

I'm also Catholic Fudge, it wasn't an insult.

Yes, I like it.

I went to school/college with loads of them too! No prizes for guessing my age!

My ds is 29 and his best friend is called John Paul. He was his best man at his wedding last year and is just about the coolest bloke on the planet! His nn is JP. Catholic sounding? Good job we are all Catholic then! Grin

It's quite a popular combo Smile

I went to school with millions of them Grin, was the name of its day in my primary school. Usually shortened to JP. I haven't heard it in years. It's alright - dated but that's just because it was so popular where I was - sort of like Joanne, Nichola, Fiona, Grainne, Paul, Marty, Stephen, throw a stick and you'll hit 5 of them when I was at school.

I hate it but then I know a horrible 19yr old John Paul so that clouds my opinion.

Report
Littlefish · 04/09/2016 21:19

No.
Reminds me of the Pope, or half of the Beatles.

I knew a John Paul, he looked like a young Mr Burns from The Simpsons.
