Hello all, we're due in 3 weeks (gender surprise), and are no closer to choosing a name than we were 9 months ago. Looking for general comments/opinions on the following names (and any suggestions for other, similar names).

The surname is Lee and the middle name for a boy will either be Jones or Morrison. The middle name for a girl is still undecided.

Audrey
Agatha
Chloe
Edith (nickname Edie)
Hannah
Juliet
Madeleine or Madeline (pronounced differently)
Sadie (we both love Sarah but can't have a Sarah Lee)

Arthur
Benson
Edward or Edmund
Frederick
Henry or Harry
Hugo
Oscar
Samuel (the only family name on the list - my dad's name; he passed away when I was young)
Simon

Thanks in advance! Smile

I would go with Chloe or Hannah for a girl and Samuel for a boy. Not that keen on the rest, sorry!

Love your girls names except Agatha (too harsh sounding). Juliet was on my short list for both my girls. Hannah is simple but under used at the moment.
I like Henry but know loads of under 3's called Henry. Ditto Oscar and Harry. Love Frederick, like Samuel. Dislike Benson, I know 3 dogs called Benson!

Like them all except Benson. Edith is especially nice and not many around our area

I only like Juliet and Hugo from that list.
Madeline is a bit overdone IMO.

My favourites are Samuel and Sadie.

My favourites from your list are Edith and Juliet.
I'm not keen on Audrey at all, nor Sadie which I don't think works with your surname.

I like Edmund and Hugo very much, and Arthur and Frederick are nice but getting very popular.
Harry/Henry is massively overused, Oscar has had its day, and Benson is awful.

Thanks again, guys!

ABCFamily Never realised the Harry Lee thing! Thanks for pointing that out. Also, have considered the Samuel Lee running into each other thing, but I guess it's just the connection to my dad that keeps me coming back to it...

Seems that Edith, Madeleine and Audrey are the top contenders for a girl, and no real front runner for boys (aside from Samuel for the connection). But we can rule out Benson, Harry and Arthur. Smile

Agatha
Edith (nickname Edie)

Hugo
Oscar
These are my choices. I especially like the girl's names.

I like all your boys names except Benson, which reminds me of Benson & Hedges. Edmund just beats Edward for me.

One thing I would be slightly wary of is the fact that Samuel Lee might 'run into' each other and sound a bit like "Samuelly" when said quickly together. Also I'd pick Henry over Harry, as Harry Lee becomes 'Hairily' quite easily.

Not keen on Agatha, but Juliet, Edith, and Audrey are lovely.

We have an E d i e

Gets complimented everywhere and 2 years on we have never met another. I'm obv biased but it's a lovey name that to me feels both current (E trend and Evie and the like) but rare

For a girl, Edie and Juliet are both cute- the others are either very common or ancient sounding.
Oscar and Frederik for a boy are both nice.

Lovely names! And now I'm a bit jealous of your surname. It seems to go with pretty much every name!
Agatha and Hannah are my favourite.

Frederick is absolutely brilliant. I also like Arthur, Henry (not Harry...) and Samuel.

Thanks for all of the suggestions/comments!

ladystardust123 I didn't realise the Arthur Lee connection, it normally wouldn't bother me but both middle names we're considering are music-inspired, so it might be a bit much. Wink

NapQueen Edith Juliet is my husband's first choice.

I still don't have a true favourite, so here's hoping I either have a epiphany or the baby is a boy. Wink

Arthur Lee was the lead singer of 60s band Love. Very cool guy but maybe you don't want your baby to have exactly the same name

I like this list!

I'd say Audrey, Hannah, or Sadie

Arthur, Oscar, Samuel or Simon

Love them all Edith and Madeline

I would go for Samuel after your dad. Very handsome name and meaning to it

I love the name Juliet- I really wanted to call my baby Juliette if we had a girl but the surname starts with a T and I think it's a bit difficult to pronounce? We had a boy in the end anyway!

My vote would be Samuel due to the family connection, shortened to Sam.

Benson was the big sea lion at a local attractions we used to regularly visit as a kid - all I see when I hear Benson.

Edith Juliet Lee

Oscar Jones Lee

Chloe Lee has a lot of ee sounds going on, so I'd avoid that. Ditto Sadie and Edie.

I like Madeleine and Juliet.

Benson I just can't take seriously as a name, for some reason. I think it's too surnamey and combined with your last name being a very plausible first, sounds off to me. I'm ok with the other boys names - I'd favour Simon, Edward/Edmund and Samuel. Samuel pips it for me because of the family link.

Madeleine sounds best with your surname I think, and is lovely.

I like Arthur Samuel Morrison Lee for flow!

Sara Lee is a cheap, frozen cakes/desserts brand here (I don't know if it's sold in the UK, but it's big here/the US/other places, I'm sure) and I would just be worried that people think of a frozen apple pie when they hear the name! Hmm
