What are people's thoughts on Cassie?

If you like it, how would you spell it, and what would you put on the BC? Cassandra? Cassia? Or just Cassie?

Love it - know a couple of teen Cassies and one 4 year old one.

(And don't be mean about Islas, I have a 10 yr old one - when we picked it, having met at Uni in Scotland, it wasn't even in the top 100 list, and people thought it was pronounced iz-lar. Now every other 2-4 year old seems to be called Isla. My Isla is mortified - I am trying to tell her she was ahead of the curve, but she wants to change her name to Alix-with-an-i)

Love it. Would probably use Cassandra on b/c.

I know two, one 30+ adult and one 6 year old. Younger one is just Cassie on bc, older one is Cassandra. Love it, though as pp said, like Callie as well.

I love it, Dd2's middle name is Cassia. I would have given it as a first name but it is too close to Dd1. I chose Cassia rather than Cassandra as a classicist I couldn't name her after such a tragic figure but I know most people don't care about that. Cassia is another name for cinnamon so no negative connotations for me there.

I've yet to meet another, and I know a lot of little girls.

I know a Cassiopeia who is four. She is known as Cassie. I think it is a lovely name and good to have your 'own' constellation.

The only Cassie I know is in year 8. She's really a Cassandra but never gets called that. Nice name!

I used to nanny for a vogue year old Cassandra called Cassie. Often shortened even more to Cass. She was brilliant.

Four year old, not vogue Confused

I really like it.

But if you're going to call her Cassie, why give her another name on the BC? Just give her a more formal middle name. That said, I love Cassandra.

I love the name Cassie. I know a 7 year old one (in my son's class). She is just Cassie. And I know a Cassia (age 9) in my daughters year. I don't think it ever gets shortened to Cass or Cassie though.

Not sure that I love Cassandra that much to say but I do love the fact that Cassandra was a Trojan Princess in the Greek legends :)

I know one Cassie, aged 19. I don't know if that's the name on her BC, or if it's short for something.

I know an 8 year old cassie. I like it.

I like Cassandra. I do think of the Trotters tbh, but your DD's generation won't, and it's still a nice name. Shakespearean, too.
Cassia is nice or I did think of Acacia (pronounced a-cay-sha)? Casey is more obvious as a nn but don't think Cassie is that much of a stretch.

We have some friends who have named their baby Castora after her Spanish grandmother - Cassie for short....

Cassiopoia no Cassie has been in our shortlist for a few years. I know two Cassie's, an adult about 30 or younger and a baby. And a Cassia.
