Hi everyone,

I really love the name Natasha but my husband likes it but isn't sold just yet... So I am just testing the water with a few other names.

I quite like Natalia as I really like the nickname Tali, but then I have also liked the name Sylvie for a few years now. My husband likes the name Sadie, but with this one I feel a bit luke warm.

Any input (or other suggestions) gratefully received!

Thanks x

Talitha's most notorious namesake was Talitha Getty, very glamorous socialite but a heroin addict who died young of an overdose in 1970s. It shouldn't necessarily put you off, but as well to know the story. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talitha_Getty

Love Sylvie and Natalia/Natalie. Don't like Sadie at all, sounds too sad imo.

I think Nathalia is beautiful (I think I prefer that spelling, for some reason)

And (this ones' a bit out there...)

I have a Natalia and she is Tallie to close friends and family, never ever Natty. It really suits her. You have 2 other of my family names in your list so obviously I love them.
I think Natalie is English
Natasha French version
Natalia Russian version
According to war and peace.
Hmmm I know a Talitha say no more. ShockWink

I prefer Talitha to your other choices. More unusual. Natasha if I had to choose between them.

If you like the nickname Tali and are going for a name to base that, don't pick Natalia. She will be Nat, despite all your efforts I fear!

Talitha is lovely

Its very pretty :) Could be misread or mispronounced as Tabitha or Tulissa (former X factor judge), but no biggie....
What are your other two children called?

Thanks everyone for your input. Here's another option for you if that's ok...
Talitha - it means third leap in Arabic and we have some Arabic connections, plus this will be our third child (assuming it's a girl as we don't actually know but I have a strong feeling it is!!)

Also I love the nn Tali

Any thoughts gratefully received. I think Sadie and Sylvie are off the table now.

Thanks! x

I've met loads of school age Natasha's recently.
(My DD is Natalie. She has only met one other Natalie her age - she is nearly 13)

Im still mystified by the Sylvie/Sylvia love on Mn - it was the name of friends mums when I was at school. They have friends like Sandra, Diane and Sue.

Any way, I prefer Natasha but I do like Natalia

How about Natalia Sadie (last name)?
Sounds really pretty and original and both of you are happy :)

Natasha is my favourite of the list. Prefer Natalie to Natalia. Sylvie is a very different type of name to the other two IMO. Natasha and Natalia (well Natalie anyway) sounds 80's to me, the kind of names my friends at primary school had or women my own age now might have. Sylvie is more granny chic and trendy. I've come across quite a few babies under 2 called Sylvie but none called Natasha or Natalia.

Natalia is a lovely name, personally, not keen on Sadie. Isla and Iona are sweet too.

Afaik in Russia Natasha is a nickname for Natalia, so perhaps two names for the price of one?

Natalia would be my first choice, followed by Natasha. I don't like Sylvie at all.
