Op I think it depends where you live, how popular theo is.

I only know my nephew and one other little boy. Not heard of anyone else. I'm in Scotland. Just checked and Theo was 19th in England top 100 and 89 or somethibg in Scotland so if you are up here it's not too common.

There are LOADS of Theos, Tobys and Reubens around in the South-East at the moment, which makes them sound rather dull I'm afraid (tho' nothing wrong with the name per se)

If you want alternative ideas, these seem to be in the same vein but not uber-popular

Milo
Hugo
Tim/Timothy(will sound very fresh in comparison to the Theos!)
Ferdinand (Ferdy)
Leonard (nn Leon)
Nathaniel

Good luck whatever you decide!

Or what about Jago?

(just saw a thread on this on this topic! And thought what a cool name, and similar-ish in sound to Theo!)
