Isabella and Evelyn

So DH and I are quite set on the names Isabella and Evelyn, we're just struggling on what way round to put them, it would either be Evelyn Isabelle (as Isabella doesn't flow quite right with our surname) or Isabella Evelyn.

Our DD is Alexia Pamela Joan. What are people's thoughts?

Think I have DH won over, looks like we're going for:

Evelyn Isabella Jane.

Both flow nicely. Go with your heart & you can't go far wrong.

Evelyn Isabelle
(17m old DD2 was going to be an Evelyn right up until the day before she arrived, it's a beautiful name)

Prefer Evelyn Isabella. Possibly depends on syllable count and rhythm of your surname...?

Isabella and various versions of it are quite highly used in DH's side of the family which is one of the things that he quite likes about it. Joan and Pamela are my and DH's grandparents (the non estranged, non crazy ones). There isn't much in the way of a common name in my side of the family except perhaps Jane or Claire but I'm really not keen on using Claire.

Also - just a thought - it sounds like your older daughter has got family middle names? Is there another family name you could add on for your new daughter in case she feels left out when she's older?

I like Isabella better but agree with others that Evelyn Isabella flows betters than Isabella Evelyn. I'm not sure that matters but, if Isabella doesn't go well with your surname, then I'd go with Evelyn first. They're both pretty names.

I think Evelyn shortens to the overly popular Evie and there are millions of Isabella's and variations around these parts.

Neither.
