Rufus is going to have to be a middle name if used at all (previous threads, but basically someone else has used it)

Siblings are Skye and Arlo and surname is double barrelled (P e r r y - G e o r g e)

If the baby is a girl,we're pretty much settled on Flora Flowers

Osbert- controversial/marmite perhaps, but gives nn's Bertie or Oz Grin
Caspar
Digby
Asa

Caspar is the best - I know one, a friend of my brothers. The friendly ghost thing won't mean anything to these kids.

Asa, as in pain in the; Digby the Disney dog; Caspar the friendly ghost and a Sitwell-a-like. Hmmmmm.

Osbert - sounds like the name of a TB ridden 19th century ornithologist
Caspar - love the nickname Cass more than I love Caspar
Digby - ruddy cheeked Victorian mill owner who whips his employees
Asa - love it but not sure if it goes too well with Arlo

I prefer the NN Bertie anyway, Oz might be cooler for an older kid, that's all.

There may well be several Ozzies in one class. It's the usual shortening for Oscar, which is very popular. I know three Ozzies short for Oscar, all under three.

Smile and I've always loved the cartoons of the artist Osbert Lancaster

he was cool

I knew it was cool!

Can't do Cosmo because of Arlo, two O endings are a bit much IMO.
I really don't like Dashiell and I'm not a massive fan of Gilbert either...

I actually quite like Osbert! It's unusual but it's hardly a new name. And fits very well with the current crop of WW1-era boys names, without any risk of overpopularity and there being 5 little Ozzys in his class. NNs are very cute.

I like Cosmo for Oz potential. And Gilbert for Bertie and the fabulously cool Gil.

Dashiell is fab too.

Perhaps not,but I mind.

bsc I've never thought of them as hipsterish,we just choose name's we like...

Perhaps Osbert is a hormonal mental moment Grin

Rufus is fantastic

Digby was in our final 5 but we chickened out. I do love it, but it is one of those names that really, really has to fit you as a family I think.
Asa is a no-no with Arlo.
Osbert, just no. If you want a Bertie but not Albert, then imo Gilbert or Lambert are better.
Caspar goes well with other DCs and is slightly unusual but not in a dodgy or eyebrow raising way.

Saw & commented on your other thread, FRIGG, and I like a lot of the names you like. Osbert doesn't do it for me personally though. Not a great sound and agree that Bert/Bertie is a much more likely nn than Oz. if you like Oz as a nn, Cosmo would work as the full name (biased!).

Digby is amazing! Have you considered Diggory? LOVE that name. DH is having none of it though.

Caspar is awesome.

Still think that if Rufus is your favourite, just use it. You chose it before your friend decided to use it too. Smile

Why can't you use Rufus as forename? It's gorgeous!

I found boys names a nightmare tbh.

Linus?
Dashiell?

Skye and Arlo are quite hipster-ish... do you not want a hipster name?

Dax erm...

Gah.

Caspar Rufus and Asa Rufus are top ATM....Digby is cool though...

Asa Rufus has better NN potential,But is very close to Arlo I suppose.
Caspar fits without being too similar...I like it a lot but I don't love it.

I don't think I'm going to be able to decide....I'm 33 weeks already!
At least I have a decent short list.

I just desperately hope no one within close proximity uses the girls name, then I'd really be screwed...

I like Caspar from your list. I want to like Digby but just think of Sir Digby Chicken Caesar.

How about Darby?
