Oh that poor child - what an awful, selfish thing to do!

Thanks mumsnetters, perhaps I should have elaborated.... I'm NOT considering it as a name!!!!!!!

A friend of a friend has called her daughter Rogue & I wanted your opinions to see if I was the only who thinks "rogue, wtf?!" :)

I would think that you were an X-Men fan.

And I think it's a terrible name to give to a child.

Vogue would be miles better!

I've got a friend who's a big comic book fan. All four of her children are named after comic book characters.

Even she would not name her daughter Rogue.

Sorry but I think thats a dreadful name to lump a child with. She will be an adult human sometime not a dog.

You are joking, right?! I don't care re X Men connotations, I don't watch it so know nothing about it but I would be Hmm if I did because it's somewhat tacky to call child a very niche name from a famous TV programme, and Hmm as I don't because Rogue is so... Rongue. For ANY CHILD. Please don't do it.

Sounds like a gladiator. Or an unfriendly woman in a jilly cooper book.

Not positive. I'm not keen. But is not my decision! :)

Oh go on then; I'll save it for the boy. Nobody would pick on a boy called Gobby, surely?

TSSDNCOP · 26/08/2013 20:52

If they NN her Gobby she'll forever be Gobby The House Elf Sad

When I think of rogue I think of ''the old rogue! what's he done now? Grin'' or 'roguish charm', roguish good looks', 'roguish smile'.
