Please give me a steer towards something cool (if that doesn't sound pathetic) and classic for a girl...

Elsa is cool yet still classic.
Audrey? I don't think it is grannyish but you might.
Josie is good but again not sure about the granny test.
Kate is elegant yet feisty but possibly not rare enough.

Meant to add - my dd is Gabrielle. Shortened to Gaby, or The Gabster, and now she's a hard faced teenager, 'Gabzii'. Yes, she has the personality to fit her name! Smile
