I found out last week that I'm having another girl Smile

My dd1 is Matilda nn Tilly (which in 2007 was much less popular), and I want something which goes nicely with this but is less likely to become top 50. I also want to avoid anything that ends in an '-ee' sound. So... what does everyone think of these?

Thea
Paloma
Fleur
Orla
Eliza

What about Cressida or Cordelia.

Paloma goes best with your dds name imo and is very pretty, eliza is awful that's my least favourite.

I love Thea. Eliza is quite nice but I'm not keen on the others.

Orla is my favourite from your list.

Thea is nice. I think only that and Orla go well with Catherine from your list. Or how about
Laurel
Bryony
Oleanda (Ollie/Andie)

Thanks everyone, it's so useful to have opinions!

Currently my dp 100% loves Thea, whereas I'm swaying more towards Paloma than any other. I get what you mean about Thea being a shortening, and don't like Theadora at all. Sigh.

Middle name is likely to be Catherine (after dp's recently deceased nana) if that's any help...?

The rest of my family like Eliza best, but I think Tilly and Eliza sound too much like a pair of Victorian scullery-maids Grin

I think all those names are currently gaining in popularity and some may make top 50. Thea is probably my favourite.

I like Thea, Paloma and Fleur.
Orla and Eliza are gaining in popularity, Eliza probably part of the old lady name boom, but are my least favourite on your list.
Fleur is very pretty for a little girl, and a good grown up name too.
Thea is lovely as a diminutive of Theadora, but I'm not so keen on it as a stand alone name.
Paloma is lovely too, and she would be a very elegant high court judge!

They're all lovely, but this is my order of preference if it helps:

Thea
Fleur
Eliza
Paloma
Orla

Love Thea. Like all the rest, Eliza least if that's any help.

Congratulations!

Of your options above, I prefer Orla and Eliza. Fleur I also like but very much depends on accent I think. Thea I love on an adult but I somehow can't picture a baby Thea, however, I know its quite popular on here so its probably just me! Palomas fine but not to my personal taste.

Do you have a favourite?
