Girl's name Minnie could be short for?

Please help me find a girl's name that Minnie could be short for. My 4 kids and I love the name but DH won't agree unless we find a "sensible" name it could be short for. He has already discounted Willamina (my favourite), Jasmine, Minerva(!) and a few others that sound too similar to Malina (2nd daughter's name). DH is Indian and I am English so names that fit into both cultures would be brilliant (the other 4 kids names fit into both). Failing that, perhaps names that Marnie/Mani could be short for as I quite like that too, but again, DH thinks it's too much of a nickname and wants a long version. PLEASE help as baby number 5 is now 4 weeks old and I have to register her next week!

Fanjomina?
Please don't do this to your daughter no matter how nice a name Minnie seems.

Still love Wilhelmina/Willamina best! Hoping I can persuade DH. Would it be wrong to spell it the second way?

I was also going to say Amelia, and I know of a Jessamine who goes by Minnie sometimes. ( pn Jess-uh-min or Jess-uh-meen)

Jessamine?

Marnie short for Margaret?

Is Mnnie a name for vulva because of the Mickey/penis association? :)

I think your DH is wise/kind to insist on a longer name, since Minnie has very definite connotations for a lot of people.

I'd never heard of the Minnie-as-slang-for-vulva thing until I came onto MN, but apparently it's extremely widespread.

Minnie is a gorgeous nickname. I would second any of the Mary names as a formal option.

My Dd Marianne is known as Minnie by family and friends.
She may prefer Mari or Marnie as nicknames when she is older. Always good to have options.

I think Minnie is a lovely name Smile. Go for it!

Autocorrect wanted to change Minnie to Amino...should you want to pursue scientific names Grin.

Do check that it isn't a word for female genitqls in your area- it is round here. A Minnie started in my ds's school in year 2, and had a very difficult time for a while.

Amelia is lovely.
As another poster suggested, name her whatever you like and call her Minnie anyway.
I call DD2 Tilly and it isn't remotely similar to her very old Irish name, it's just a NN.

Minnie is beautiful! I think it would be a sensible nickname for Melanie. That has a modern and timeless feel to it and it bit more substance for her when she is an adult. I also know a Millie that is shortened form for Emelia. Close enough if he doesn't like Minnie.

I also know an Imogen who gets shortened to Minnie. She is 7 and likes having her formal name and her nickname too
