Name my dd!

Dd is due next week and we're still stumped for her name! Help me out mnetters! Here's the criteria:

  1. Middle name to be Christina so something that goes with that.
  2. We like traditional names so nothing too modern (no Keira-type names). DS is Edward, to give you an idea.
  3. Nothing one-syllabled - surname is only one syllable so I think it needs a first name that's more than one syllable to balance it out. Surname begins with P.
  4. Names we love but have ruled out because they're already in the family: Alice, Lucy, Elizabeth.
  5. Would prefer it not to be a name in the top ten - I love Olivia, Evie etc, but don't want her to be one of five in her class.

I think that's it - please share your ideas! I promise I will update with what we choose!

I think the A ending is okay. My "official" (never used) name is Christina and my middle name begins and ends with an "A". I think it flows fine but is a bit of a mouthful Grin so I would say maybe bit a shorter first name otherwise it's a lot to write on forms!

Somebody said Mary Christina, I think that sounds lovely.

Thanks so much for all the suggestions everyone. I've added Phoebe to the list too. Not so keen on Posy and Daphne - I think they're a bit too girly for me. So current faves are Imogen, Beatrice, Violet, Abigail and Phoebe - any more like those you can think of? This is a huge help, MN has done more in 12 hours than DH and I have managed in nine months Grin

I was going to say Elizabeth... but, if not, I'm not sure how these names go but:

Jennifer
Diana
Avalyn/Avelyn
Evelyn (you said you liked Evie)
Maria
Permelia (not a name I'd ever though about, but I think Permelia Christina has a ring to it)
Sarah/Sara/Sera/Serah
Charlotte
Louise/Louisa
Winnifred
Natalie
Abigale
Helen/Helene
Mary

I think those are ok. The ending with an 'a' thing is a bit tricky. I think it depends on the combination, your surname and also how often you plan on using your child's middle name. For your son, how often do you call him Edward/Ed/Eddie/Ted versus, say, Edward James (or whatever his middle name is)?

Alternatively, just make her name Christina and save all the trouble. Grin

Posy can be a fab nickname for Primrose or Josephine

Elin, Seren, Harriet, Alice - you need to be thinking of the shortened options because edward will end up as less syllables at school. The more syllables the more shortening.
