What I you think? Do you think it's too masculine? I'm not a fan of very frilly or girls names but am worried other people might think it's ugly. I think I might just love it though.

Similar suggestions are welcome.

DD was very nearly called this but we are great shorteners of names and I just couldn't cope with 'Mona' as a nickname. Plus it didn't really suit her. But love it in principle!

Love it. I loved the Ramona and Beezus books as a child, my girls now love the film too- tis very good. I had a dd called Beatrice and my girls used to call her Beezus sometimes because of the books Smile
Ramona to me is independent and feisty. Great name!

I think Jane is too plain to go with Ramona. Something a little more dashing or exotic is required.

I absolutely adore Ramona

Brilliant name, and I think Ramona Jane would sound fantastic.

Love it, it was on my list for DC2, but we already have a Beezus (Beatrice).

Fabulous name. LOVED the Ramona books. And Maggie Gyllenhall named her daughter this, which makes it cool. Oh, and it's the name of my friend's wonderful little chihuahua Grin

I also think of the nanny from Cold Feet. Loved that programme. I really like it. I do hear 'moaner', though there's always going to be something with a name.

Not fussed....I think what puts me off is the 'mona (....moaner!!!)'. Ramona the moaner?!?! Have you got Latino connections? As that girl from Outnumbered has got a Spanish or Portuguese surname which swings it imo.

Absolutely love Ramona. YY to Beezus & Ramona, and Ramona Marquez (Karen in Outnumbered). Also the nanny in Cold Feet was a Ramona. Plus don't forget seminal punk band the Ramones! A great name all round.

I really like it and we have considered it for DD due in 8 weeks. I loved the Ramona books when I was younger. Maggie Gyllenhaal called her first Ramona and is think she is sensational.

Ok, enough now with the loving of Ramona... I don't want it getting too popular. I was a bit scared of the baby names board but now I think you're all lovely.

pipkins I think that was why it was in my mind. Does anyone else search tv credits for baby name ideas?
