Etienne. Made the short list/Top 3 for DS 1 & 2, but DH vetoed as "we're not French". I tried reasoning that hardly ANY names are truly British ... Unless you want to get medieval. Godfric, anyone? Thought not.

Xander

We actually went with a very common name for DS as it's a family name. It suits him perfectly, so I don't mind in the slightest. Dexter would've been cool though. DS isn't cool so it's ok.

Aidan (my ds, named for St. Aidan who founded the monastery on Lindisfarne, one of our favourite places).

Paul (it's ds's middle name, after dh's grandfather).

Matthew (was our boys name for dd1 and dd2 - ds came in the middle and Aidan suited him so well!)

Samuel, loved it for DD1 and still loved it when DS was born.
