Albi - the racist dragon?

I love the name Albion. DH says it will be shortened to Albi (which I like) but there was a joke song by FLight of the Conchords called Albi the Racist Dragon.

Is that what you thought of?

Live FOTC but I too would think football first.

Never heard of the song, my first thought was West Brom. Depends if that bothers you or not. But just Albie or Alby I wouldn't link with anything really.

Totally FOTC! But its a cool song! I say super cute-go for it!!

Albion makes me think if the football team.
Albi makes me think of a town in France (not a bad association though!)

If you were lucky I'd think West Brom fan, if unlucky EDL.
Either way, it's a no no (unless you are massive West Brom fans in which case, go for it).

I've never heard of FLight of the Conchords or Albi the Racist Dragon.

Just reminds me of Plymouth Albion!

NF was the first thing I thought of too, sorry. Objectively it is a nice name, but perhaps not wise!

It reminds me of a pub and the FotC song.

Haha, love the Conchords Grin
I would assume parents were West Brom fans.

I really didn't expect the NF links, but I guess with the name maybe I should have. Will definitely steer clear now!

Makes me think NF too. Why not Alby, short for Albert?

I used to work with an Albion years ago. We called him Albi. I have always liked the name, but I can see the love is not shared!

I'm not actually sure I like Albi as a mans name, now I have written it down a few times anyway!

What about Albert, but everyone calls him Alb, or Albie?
It's a really nice name (just not Albion!).

Just...no.

I would think the same as your DH, although I do have an 'Albi the racist dragon' t-shirt which I bought about 5 years ago from the US. Couldn't get one over here.
Albi is lovely, but may be confused with Alfie, which is not.

Albion is, quite frankly, ridiculous.

And Albi would instantly have me singing the FoTC song. And sniggering.

I'm afraid it makes me think immediately that the parents are National Front supporters.

Nope. I quite like Flight of the Concords, but I haven't heard that song. I think it's nice. It reminds me of Alfie, and also Alba in The time traveller's wife.

I teach an Albert and he is so lovely. I do like that and Alfred.
