What would your name have been in a parallel universe?

Taken inspiration from another thread and wondered what my name would have been had I been born with a Y chromosome.

Apparently I would have been a Jonathan which I think I would have quite suited.

I would have been called Karl

My DS was supposed to be a DD and was going to be called Stephanie, Stevie for short - thank god he was a boy
My DD would have been Liam if she had been a boy

Michael Peter Edward James

I think I got off lightly.

I would have been a Simon.

But my younger brother was called something completely different, so they obviously went off the idea after a while. Just as well I was a girl. :)

Richard Daniel. Yawn.

DH would have been Lorna. MIL desperately wanted a little Lorna, but she kept having boys and ended up calling the youngest Lorne.

Also a Thomas. Strong, classic, Biblical... would have been OK.

I would have been David but already had an uncle with that name, so I believe it was Daniel or Robert.

I would have been Andrew, although my younger brothers are Harry & Jeremy, so not sure what happened to Andrew!

I thought you meant in a totally imaginary parallel universe, I was all set to say "Araminta-Persephone Finch, I never have been very lucky"... But now I have to say "Steven". Not quite the same is it. Grin

I was going to be Martin until my brothers started pronouncing it with a glottal stop which put my mum off.

Thomas (Tom.) As it is I have a very very unusual name, I've only ever met one other.

I would also have been a Jonathan. So would my sister.

However, by the time my brother came along - Jonathan had fallen from favour and bro is something else entirely!

Poor Jonathan, fated never to exist!

I would have been Justin. My mum went off it by the time my brother arrived a couple of years later. He would have been Jessica, which she says she has also since gone off, so it is a good job we were what we are.

I would have been an Andrew. Which is odd, because my real name is far more unusual.

I would have been Jock, my mum thought it was lovely. My younger brother is Jack.

MiL chose Sydney for a boy and Robin for a girl, DH arrived and they went with Robin in the end.

DD would have been William.

Oh and totally off tangent - I quite like David and db suits being a Dave but the other week I had to sit through the inlaws slagging off the name for 20 mins! All quite aware that I have a db called Dave that they have met.

I think name tactlessness is weird.
