I love Alice but I can't use it because of issues with our surname... so I was wondering if people could suggest similar sounding names? many thanks!

We have an Alice, the only other name we both liked was Freya. Hope you find something you love, it's so hard!

I wonder what the OP went for in the end? Her DD will probably be 2 now!

Or Felicia, even more similar.

I've got a real thing about Sybil at the moment - I love it. How about that?

I was going to say Ariella but guess that would have the same issue! How about Elena (elaine-a), felicity, Francesca, penny, safiya, Georgie, lexi... Ummmmm.... Nope, I'm out! :-)
Could you not change the A to an E? Elise? Elice? Ellis?

You see that tab at the top of the page that says "acronyms"?

Go read it.

I went to school with A.Pratt I'm guessing yours is similar?

Friend with Alice also has a Lucie, which I think is a lovely name. Otherwise Jessica or Ella get my vote :)

DD1 is called Charlotte and Alice is on our short-list for DD2 along with

Lauren
Esme
Bronwen
Meredith
Caitlin

We have had the same short-list now for months and can't choose because we love them all - I am hoping inspiration strikes in the delivery room :)

I am an Alice Cooper!

Although I was not born Cooper and I didn't change my name until I had been married for 8 years (and was 8 months pg). You know what? Nobody cares. One or two comments, but no one under 25 really knows who Alice Cooper the singer is.

We have an Alice.

I am Katherine :) Never really thought about our names going together but maybe they do.

I like Josephine. Just asked DH again and he said he still hates it.

DD's middle name is Charlotte which I think has quite a similar feel.

Alicia? Or is that too similar? :)

Katharine
Emily
Rebekah
Elinor
Matilda (thinking medieval here)
Joan/Jane?
Laura/Laurel
Mary/Marie/Maria
Una

I see Frances suggested - love Frances, so pretty, classic and uncomplicated!
