Hello,

I just thought I'd post this as if your like me and in this situation you end up reading lots on the internet.

I went for my amnio this morning. I was terrified as I'm quite needle phobic. I was crying and hysterical going in. But once I'd calmed down you know what, it really was ok.

I shut my eyes through the whole thing and it really wasn't painful atall. It was over in seconds and all done. I can feel where the needle went in but it's not pain as such, I'm just aware of it.

So for those that may be frightened of the actual procedure it's really not that bad honest. Xx

They said 3-4 days but the nurse did say she's seen them come back in 48 hours. It was a relief and honestly ok.

The consultant confirmed my own research that so far there has only been 1 false positive recorded with NIFTY (in London) so I'm being realistic. I'm kind of looking at this as part of the termination process sadly.

I hover won't be frightened of it again and will do the amnio over the NIFTY/HARMONY if this happens again (it's all personal choice though)

The waiting has been too much to deal with. X

Glad it went ok for you. When did they say the results would be back? x
