to cry in ASDA?

Oh hell I know I was, but pg hormones are raging and the DDs are home as their school is a polling station.

I went to do the weeks shop without a shopping list or even a meal plan in my head, and I just stood in the bakery bit trying to call DH for him to help with meal suggestions as my brain was a complete blank, when he very politely said he was in a board meeting I put the phone down and burst into tears (much to DDs embarassment)

Bloody hormones, I feel like such an idiot now

I was almost in tears yesterday at Macdonalds, and im certainly not pregnant!

why? because the kids were hungry, and the gormless F*wit behind the counter ordered each grill sarnie separate - 15mins i waited for cold food. he said he could re-order so it would be warm... what and wait another 15mins????

Oh BlueBumedFly. Cbeebies? DVD? Settle down with a blanket and a cuddle. Do you drive? Once round the block to put her to sleep.

I sympathise. Have a 24 month old too...

OMG and now the house next door is having a tree cut down and we only have single glazing (v old Victorian sash windows which afford no soundproofing.... just off to hit my head on something solid...

OK I am crying now but no because of a supermarket....

DD is supposed to be asleep, I love my lunchtime break, 2 hours, no problem.

However, today she wanted her hair in a hair band. Her her is very fine and not really grown into any kind of style, it only just fits into a hairband.

Since 1pm she has been taking the hairband out, screaming, crying, retching, coughing until I go back up and put the hairband back in. I tried letting her cry it out as I am well aware she is now over tired and pushing every boundry in the book (she is 24 months) but when I let her to get over it she was sick. She is not poorly, she is overtired. I have tried being nice, not speaking, and sadly shouting. She is so tired she can barely sit up and she will be horrible this afternoon with no sleep. I have a playdate coming here is approx 1 hour and I have done none of the jobs I need to do. I would get her up but I really need a break and she needs to sleep.

The bugger is I will have to wake her up at 3 at which time she would have had about 10 mins sleep and she will be a nightmare.

Now crying as I am so frustrated and feel mean for yelling.

Sorry, did not know where else to post and did not think a new post was really required.

Thanks for listening.

When pg I sobbed and sobbed in Sainsbo's because I couldn't decide between forest or summer breeze bubble bath. DH had to gently lead me away.

OP, YANBU and since we are all being open about these matters then it is my turn to confess that I have cried in both Sainsbury's & Tesco and yes, I blame the hormones too!

pregnancy is such an excuse to cry over anything. i cried a few months ago on the bus because i forgot to swipe my oyster card on the bus (with ds and mind elsewhere) and the driver made a big deal about it.

Am newly pregnant and I cried in the doctors for no reason the other day - felt really sorry for the poor man!

wasn't my normal doctor and was quite rightly asking questions about some drugs I was on because of pregnancy - wasn't his fault at all!

when pregnant with my son I cried when the man wouldn't let me on teh bud with buggy again for totally valid reason tis just the hormones!

Bratnav, yum!! I am going to make it and as my DH is veggie it is easy to do a veg version too. DDs will love it and its economical!

I chickened out of the supermarket this morning, it was going to be waitrose as our stupid Sainsbusys is attached to a multistory car park and you have to go down 3 travelators to get in. DD thinks it is great larks, however, it makes the shopping trip miserable when she throws a tantrum as she cannot go back up and down for the hundreth time!

I am about to shop online and we will just have to make do until tomorrow!!! I am sure there must be something at the back of the cupboard.....

bratnav · 05/06/2009 10:11

Well I could have gone to Waitrose as it is our nearest supermarket and I love it there, also with the cost of petrol to the nearest Asda it probably works out at about the same cost IYSWIM beginning to feel a bit silly for shopping is Asda now as I hate it so much.

Thanks BOF, the wedding went fantastically apart from my parents complaining loudly about the food, service, general 'posh' atmosphere etc etc. Everyone else had a blast including us

Sausage & Tomato Pie recipe:

Cook enough sausages for 2-3 perperson in a pan with an onion (sliced), chuck in a casserole with 2 tins of tomatoes plus herbs, sage is good. Cover with thick layer of mashed potato then grated chese. Cook at 200 until cheese is crispy and golden.

Cheap and yummy

I started to hyperventilate just at the thought of going to a supermarket without a list so crying in the middle of one is very understandable. I often lose my will to live in the middle of a supermarket, it just makes life seem so mundane and worthless.

Report
spicemonster · 04/06/2009 20:15

No nevergonnapost - I think it was just me that mentioned Waitrose but only because it really is my nearest supermarket. But actually I think that crying in Waitrose is even more pathetic because they sort of make an effort there to make it as pleasant an experience as possible. My nearest Asda is about 10 miles away (in London which is equivalent to 20 miles outside) and I'm nearly in tears by the time I get there, without even having started shopping!

Thankyou for staring this thread, I'm sorry you were crying in Asda but I'm so glad I'm not alone in feeling that way and I'm not even pg!
